1 Sentence: word order
(Predicate). The child was sleeping.
I can see the morning star.
I will leave him a note.
He is sick.
I thought him very sly.
Inversion. -
2 Indirect object
Prepositions "for", "to" with indirect object. О глаголах - исключениях из этого правила см. give me this / give this to me). We are currently only able to sell goods to countries within the United Kingdom.
I wouldn't have believed this, if a Saint had told it to me. (а не *... if a Saint had told me it).
Passive). He got another man to take my place in the mines, and I was given an easy task from that on. ( =... He gave me an easy task from that on).
Relative clause):Piggy asked whoever he met his name.
Direct object
